Bharatnatyam by Saroja Baidyanathan and Group, New Delhi

Guru Saroja Baidyanathan the founder of Ganesh Natyala, based in Delhi.  Guru Baidyanathan was trined in the Tanjore style of Bharatanatyam by Guru Lalitha of Saraswathi Gana Nilayam; she is also a disciple of Kattumannar Muthukumaran Pillai.  Not only a talented choreographer and performer, she has written several books on classical dance.

Beginning with a shlaka in praise of Sri Ganesa followed by Angikam Pushpanjali in honor of Ganesa.,Kartikeya, Saraswati,Lakshmi and Shiva.  The next item is Nagendra Haraya, depcting the many attributes of Lord Shiva.  Achyutam Kesavam invokes Lord Krishna by his various names.  Followed by Sri Ramachandra Kripalu and Mahishasura Mardini- Swaranjali, in -praise of Devi Durga. Bho Shambho describes the cosmic dance of Lord Shiva.  Followed by Baro Krishna and finally, Tillana, characterized by fast paced movements leading into various sculpturesque poses.
